B11: Ghosting-Away Party

Well patrons, it's time to settle that utility bill and close up the dungeon for a while. Josh and Emily give their home-away-from-home a proper sendoff with some party jams, some bittersweet tunes, a VGM Karaoke from Emily -- even some surprise presents for Josh! So claim your favorite patch of cobblestone one last time and help turn this somber farewell into the ghosting-away party our dungeon deserves.

  1. Now I'm super interested in Chibi-Robo! (exclamation not mine)

Also love that Petz Bunnyz has a z on Bunnyz. I didn't remember seeing that in stores.

I've mentioned it in a previous comment, but Mean Bean Machine is a game near and dear to my heart. Very fond memories. Even hearing people mention it gives me butterflies. I freaking LOVE that game.

Listening to Column Dive right now and am really digging it.

Josh, when I go to Tokyo in a couple weeks, I'll look for some sweet golf games if you're in the market for some. That goes for all Patrons! Let me know what you'd like, I'll search it out. Send me a list at andyblankjones at gmail. I'll see what I can do.

As the episode ended, I found myself really enjoying hearing music right after you would talk about it. Like you'd be praising something and then it'd play - I find myself making lists of things you talk about but not feature on the episodes for later listening. This was much easier! Just some humble Patron feedback for you.

  2. Hey guys it sounded like you were getting haju (i hope thats the right spelling) out of the dungeon but if you somehow can't you can always ask Banjo and Kazooie. Banjo has this cool move called the taxi pack where he can fit really big and heavy things in his backpack and carry them to where you want them. I am playing these games with my son now and forgot about this move. Just an option lol

  3. Howdy, you two! What a fantastic episode. I actually saw it pop up on my feed the same time as the brand new LMH. My first reaction was, "Wow, LMH typically has a lot more tracks, but is about 10 minutes shorter this time. The Jukebox is getting talky!"

Having said that, it didn't really occur to me that saying goodbye to the Dungeon would be so difficult. The tracks were all wonderful, and when it was all said and done, I was sad that it was over.

And Emily, that Carousel Karaoke was so wistful! It was a really vulnerable track. I've been previously ambivalent about your assertions that the SMS sound chip sounded "sad"(and Game Gear by extension; they're pretty much the same system except for on-screen color). But you've proved your point. So good!

I was doing the math, and I was thinking that if you guys do the same amount of tracks each week, but make about half of them patron selections and half of them host selections+HAJ-kun contributions, it seems to me that you would end up doing about the same amount of work each week(or if your current workload is lopsided, every 2 weeks), and use the same amount of patron contributions every 2-week period. Does that sound right to you?

At any rate, I look forward to the new format whenever it comes. Thank you for all you guys are doing!
