Ep. 73: I Would Be Honored

This week's recommendations take us from the city lights of Tokyo to the wide open skies of Texas during a rare back-to-back block of vocal tracks. Along the way hear about that time Josh and Emily solved a puzzle by buttering a lock, witness the birth of Definitely Darryl's musical foil, and revisit your comfortable Californian memories of the Bubble Bauble Challenge via Video Game Nostagia Patch #5. So, won't you join us at the bar? We would be honored.

  1. Misoka of Pansound is the composer behind the Kamiko track.

  2. Here's a fact:

Way back in the medieval era of Episode 11 was a track from Mega Man seeequel The Misadventures of Tʁon Bonne, suggested by --let me just go check-- patron Marsh. It appealed to me a great deal, I still remember it, I left a comment at the time.

That game is set not centuries but millennia after Mega Man 1.

The track was called Nakkai Desert.

And that desert is full of

    the same thing as ever:

    Sand.

    1. Haha! I actually thought of that track as we were listening to this one, because the earfeel and mood were similar. Good sleuthing, and fantastic memory!

    2. Hey Spritz and keyglyph!!! Marsh here- so funny, I never read the comments, but happened to click this one time and saw I was mentioned for something I submitted 62 episodes ago! Thanks for the shoutout! I really like that Nakkai Desert track, too!

  3. That Chuck Ragan song totally took my breath away. There's something about a the sound of a steel guitar that just hits me at my core. I saw the trailer after the episode, but listening to the song bare really hit me.

Josh, I totally forgot about the scene in Sw&Sw where you wake the Golgolithic Mass. That scared the heck out of me the first time I played it....Plus, I didn't know you could fight it, I just assumed it would kill you, so I ran like crazy. Incidentally, if you double-tap where you want to go, your character goes faster. Especially if you tap at the exit of the screen. Oh, and be sure to wear earphones....the music is made for that kind of experience.

  4. I was honored you chose my track suggestion for this episode. It is a treat to see which nuggets from the testimonials you two pull out to discuss.
    As always, another great episode.
